EASY HOMEMADE TONKATSU SAUCE

Quick and easy, kid-friendly, sweet and savory tonkatsu sauce for fried chicken or pork cutlets, croquettes and even as barbeques sauce.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions
 

  • Measure all the ingredients.
  • In a small bowl or container, add all the ingredients.
  • Stir or whisk vigorously to combine, making sure the sugar is dissolved and the ketchup is incorporated.
  • Do a taste test and adjust the amount of ingredients to your liking.

Notes:
  1. Make the sauce 30 minutes before use or make the night before as the flavor will  develop overnight.
  2. Add onion or garlic powder to make more savory.
  3. Use vegan Worcestershire sauce to make it vegan-friendly.
