This tuna salad is perfect for a light lunch or dinner. It is a quick and easy salad that’s also satisfyingly tasty. It is made in only 10 minutes with simple ingredients you probably already have. Pair this budget-friendly salad with crackers or crusty bread for a complete meal.

This tuna salad is one of the tastiest, fastest and best-value recipes one can make. Who would say no to a recipe that only takes 10 minutes from start to finish?  In addition, it is budget-friendly, and versatile because you can add or remove any ingredients to one’s liking. Lastly, the dressing is customisable to accommodate dietary goals like swapping mayonnaise and creme fraiche with yogurt.

I make this tuna salad when I want something fast and simple but does not lack flavor. Make enough to share with the whole family for a light meal served with crackers or bread. This recipe uses a handful of ingredients which you might already have in your pantry. So, next time you are looking for an easy and tasty salad try this one.

Ingredients and Substitution

Tuna – I used tinned tuna in water. Use tuna in oil too.

Tomatoes – I used cherry tomatoes only because I have them lying around but when there are only large tomatoes available then I dice them and keep in mind that they are watery.

Cucumber – English cucumber was used but feel free to use other types of cucumbers.

Mayonnaise – I used the Kewpie brand of mayonnaise because I like the flavor but other brands will work and homemade mayonnaise too. Substitute with Greek yogurt for dietary purposes.

Creme fraiche – For tangy and rich flavor, use yogurt in place of creme freche if not available.

Mustard – For tanginess and spice. I used add English mustard in this recipe.

Salt and pepper – Season with both and season to taste.

Vinegar  – I used Chinkiang vinegar but other vinegars like balsamic will brighten the dish.

This is great served with crackers of choice or crusty bread. Serve on top of a green salad, as a sandwich spread or as a jacket potato topping.
