Asok Pethouse Cat Cafe Bangkok

Asok pethouse cafe is a lively place to go to be around cats. Sit down for a quick bite, a cup of tea or coffee while you watch the cats be cats.

Are you looking for a place to relax while in Central Bangkok?

Go to Asok Pethouse.

It is a nest of peace, tranquillity and feline therapy.

Being around cats reduces stress and anxiety.

A study found that a 10-minute spent petting a cat reduces the levels of cortisol, the stress hormone.

In addition, the research found that kids were found to be more attentive and less sad as one of the emotional benefits of having a bond with cats.

Whenever we can we visit a place where they have cats, or say hello to the ones at the places we stay when we are on holiday.

We consider ourselves lucky to have go to Asok Pethouse.

Amon misses her cat at home but one way to keep her mind off that was to pet a cat wherever we are.

Asok Pethouse Cat Cafe

Asok Pethouse is not like other cafes we have been to. They look after the welfare of their resident cats.

There are only a few of them in each room at the time of visit.

The cats are able to sleep in peace, walk around and go in and out as they wished to.

A cat cafe is a place to be around cats.

Such a place is a venue to socialise with feline friends, a relaxed and relaxing place both for cat lovers, lovers of cats and the cats themselves.

Head to Asok Pethouse cafe for pet companionship.

A short walk from the BTS Asok and Sukhumvit MRT Stations, treat yourself to a drink, a snack or a full meal over a purr.

There are rules about petting, carrying and feeding resident felines.

These rules are in place to protect the cats. Quiet, private spaces are provided for the cats to retreat to.

Friendly staff are around and ready to lend a hand if help is needed.

They have cats in a room downstairs and another room upstairs where cats are free to roam.

On our visit there were a handful of cats in the downstairs room sleeping. We did not bother them and we moved upstairs. There were 4 cats upstairs and were all awake and busy.

There were two rabbits there too.

Food and Drinks in the cafe

The place was busy but not too busy that we did not have a table to have a cup of coffee.

There is no entrance fee but there is a minimum spend of 150baht.

The cafe has a big menu to spend 150 baht within an hour and a half of the time given to stay in the cafe.

We ordered coffee, cute paw butter cakes and a meringue pie.

The cakes were a treat and knowing that what we paid for go to charity they tasted better.

The cafe offers juices, coffee, toast, rice, pasta, vegan and gluten free options are available too.

If you went in and were hungry they served something from meat pies, pancakes, salads and even porridge.

But since we are in Thailand I guess a Thai dish or two would be nice to have on offer.

Cat Cafe experience

It was purely by chance that we found this cat cafe.

We were in the area for the morning and we needed a place to sit as it was a hot day.

A 5 minute walk from Asok BTS even in the heat was bearable if we were going to be around felines.

When we set off for the morning, we had loads of surprises.

And one thing that surprised me more than my daughter was, that they the cafe is focused on rescue and rehoming of cats and kittens which my old acquaintance worked or volunteered at.

Asok Pethouse is a foster home for rescued cats. Most cats are up for adoption. They have a website to visit if anyone is interested in adopting cats.

Our visit was short but we will be back whenever we are in town.
