Mayo ketchup is a perfect condiment or dip for fried food and a spread for sandwiches and burgers. A ridiculously easy and handy-to-know mayo ketchup recipe wherever you go.
Who knew that 2 packets of sauce on the table in a pub would make a difference to anything you order which is fried or when you want to add a kick to a burger or a sandwich?
I posted shorts on our Youtube channel of how I made this sauce using small packets of sauces from the pub.
Some viewers commented that it is called pink sauce.
One called it Marie Rose sauce for prawn cocktails.
Others commented that it needed pepper or salt.
The base of this sauce is made up of mayonnaise and ketchup then add a little something to one’s liking.
Originally made I used to make it with only mayonnaise and ketchup but recently I have been adding mustard for a bit of kick.
I thought of changing the name into mayo ketchup mustard sauce but it is so long I can’t bear to think that I would even be able to remember it these days.
Amon likes to mix this too whenever needed.
It is sometimes called magic sauce in the house because it turns up like magic when required.

What is Mayo ketchup?
It is made up of mayonnaise and ketchupusually served as a condiment for fried plantain slices, and French fries. Many countries around the world have their mayo ketchup variation, in Argentina whereas it is salsa golf, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico have their mayo ketchup, one of our viewers said it is called Marie Rose sauce which is used as a dressing for prawn cocktails.
Ingredients and substitutions
The list of ingredients is only a guide. Feel free to customize it. Add more or less of each ingredient according to your taste.
Basic pink sauce is made up of only mayonnaise and ketchup but it also gives you room to play and add some spice to it to make it tastier to compliment the fry ups that it is served with.
Mayonnaise – Gives richness and body to the sauce. Use any brand of choice or what is on hand, feel free to use vegan mayo as well.
Ketchup – It is also known as tomato sauce or tomato ketchup in countries like the UK. Ketchup adds sweetness, and acidity as well as a pink color to the end product.
Mustard – Substitute with garlic powder to make it garlicky and if you cannot consume mustard. Add a dash of spicy sauce or Sriracha sauce for a spicy kick or a hint of pepper too.
How to make mayo ketchup sauce?
Mix mayonnaise, tomato ketchup and mustard in a bowl to combine. Adjust the seasoning to taste. Serve it as a dip for fried foods such as chips or fries or a spread or dressing for sandwiches or burgers.
It is recommended that the sauce be used or served as soon as possible after it is prepared.
Leftovers and storage
Keep leftovers in a clean container with a tight-fitting lid. Refrigerate for up to 30 days.
How to serve it?
Mayo ketchup pairs well with fried foods like chips or French fries, battered fish, plantains, fried chicken or a spread on sandwiches and burgers.

Equipment
- 1 bowl medium
- 1 mixing spoon
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup ketchup tomato sauce,tomato ketchup
- 1/8 tsp mustard hot sauce, pepper
Instructions
- Add mayonnaise, ketchup and mustard in a bowl.
- Mix well to combine. Taste to adjust the seasoning. Serve
